Protect Everything Under Your Roof

Your roof is the first line of defense against Virginia's weather. When it fails, everything below it is at risk. We connect you with roofing contractors who diagnose the real problem and fix it right, whether that means a targeted repair or a full replacement.

Our contractors handle storm and leak repairs, full tear-offs and re-roofs, and new construction. They work with architectural and three-tab asphalt shingles, standing-seam and metal roofing, and proper underlayment, flashing, and ventilation so the system performs as a whole.

How Each Material Holds Up Here

Virginia's mix of summer heat and humidity, heavy thunderstorms, and winter freeze-thaw is hard on a roof. The right material depends on your home, your budget, and how long you plan to stay.

Three-Tab Asphalt

The budget-friendly standard. Lighter and flatter than architectural shingles, with a typical service life around 15 to 20 years here. A solid choice for rentals or shorter-term ownership.

Architectural Shingle

The most popular choice in central Virginia. Thicker, dimensional, and more wind-resistant than three-tab, with longer warranties and a service life that often reaches 25 to 30 years. The best balance of cost and durability for most homes.

Metal

The longest-lasting option, frequently 40 years or more, and excellent at shedding snow and rain. Higher upfront cost, but standing-seam metal is a strong fit for mountain properties and homeowners planning to stay for the long haul.

Roofing Questions

It depends on the age of the roof and the extent of the damage. Isolated leaks or a few missing shingles on a younger roof are usually a repair. Widespread granule loss, sagging, or a roof near the end of its service life is often better replaced. A contractor inspection will tell you which makes sense.
Most residential re-roofs are completed in one to three days, depending on the size of the home, the roof's complexity, and the weather. Repairs are usually a single day.
Storm, wind, and hail damage are often covered, while wear and age typically are not. Many contractors can document the damage and walk you through the claims process, but coverage is ultimately decided by your insurer and policy.
After a major storm, look for missing or lifted shingles, granules collecting in gutters, dented flashing or vents, and any interior water stains. Even if the roof looks fine from the ground, a professional inspection can catch damage that leads to leaks later.
